These rules apply on every wiki. Each wiki can add its own rules on top, and its moderators enforce both.

Ratings#

Every wiki is rated when it's created, and the owner can change it in settings:

  • General: fine for everyone.
  • Mature: violence, horror, or strong language that a general audience might not want. Mature wikis show a badge in their header and in the directory.

No explicit or 18+ wikis. Sexually explicit content isn't allowed anywhere, whatever a wiki's rating.

Never allowed#

  • Anything illegal, including sexual content involving minors (reported to the authorities; uploads are scanned for it).
  • Sexually explicit images or text.
  • Threats, harassment, or content attacking people for who they are (race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, and similar).
  • Other people's personal information: home addresses, phone numbers, private photos, real identities they haven't made public.
  • Malware, phishing, or links to them.
  • Spam: advertising, link-building, or mass-created pages.
  • Impersonating people, organisations, or Wiki Forge staff.
  • Encouraging self-harm or violence.
  • Write in your own words. Don't paste text from other sites unless its licence allows it (and say where it came from).
  • Images must be your own work, freely licensed, or official media used to illustrate the article (fair use), with the source given. See licensing.
  • If you own something posted here without permission, write to admin@wikiforge.wiki.

Being a good neighbour#

  • Don't vandalise, edit-war, or use extra accounts to get around a block.
  • Keep disagreements about the content, not the person. Use edit summaries.
  • Spoilers: follow the wiki's own spoiler rules, and use the spoiler component where they ask for it.

What happens when rules are broken#

Moderators and admins on a wiki can revert edits, hide revisions, protect pages, delete pages, and block people from that wiki for a time or until lifted, always with a reason in the public log. The site admin can ban accounts from every wiki and close wikis that break these rules. Serious cases (illegal content, threats) are removed at once and may be reported to the authorities.

To report something, use the Report link on any page. To appeal a decision, see the dispute policy.
